Dr. Trent Callahan
Dr. Trent Callahan graduated from University of Missouri in May of 1998 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine . After graduating from Ballard High School, Dr. Callahan attended and completed College of the Ozarks’ pre-Veterinary program. Dr. Callahan practiced veterinary medicine for 11 years in Butler prior to starting his own clinic. In 2008, Trent and Melissa Callahan bought and remodeled the old Massey Ferguson building in Butler, Missouri, opening The Bates County Veterinarian Clinic. When not working at the clinic or on call, Trent spends his spare time farming west of Montrose, Missouri where he and Missy live with their two children, Sudie and Cade, and a wide array of animals.
Dr. Amanda Yoder
Dr. Amanda Yoder graduate in May of 2016 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. She grew up on her parent's farm in Garnett, Kansas. She recently married Kurt Yoder and they currently live near Amsterdam, Missouri. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog Lucy.
Melissa Callahan graduated from College of the Ozarks with a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness and computer science. She previously worked for eighteen years in the banking industry. This has proved beneficial for Missy as she works with the financial, inventory, and record keeping of the clinic. She enjoys athletics, landscaping, and her two children.
Jo Pippin has been with the clinic since the opening. She and her husband, Dale, own a cattle farm and a drywall business. She has worked with cattle all of her life and is always willing to take on any job she is handed. The Pippins have two grown children, Jamie Loe and Darren Pippin.
We would like to welcome our newest addition the the Bates County Veterinary Clinic. Sage Hutton has recently joined our team. Sage is a 2013 graduate of Butler High School and is currently enrolled in the veterinary technician program with Maple Woods community college. Sage has worked on the farm for most of her life. She enjoys her two dogs and horses.
Vali Hanson has been with the clinic since 2009 after previously working in the healthcare industry for 25 years. She has been grooming animals for many years. She lives in Adrian with her husband, Nels. Animals are her passion.
Karol Vanhorn joined us in January of 2013. Karol is married to Dallas Vanhorn and they have two sons, Carey and Dalton. They reside on a farm outside of Butler. Karol is quick to take on new challenges and learn new experiences. She enjoys being outdoors and being with family and friends.
Nancy Hedrick and her husband Eddie have two grown sons. When Nancy is not at the clinic, she is helping her husband with his cattle, their hauling business, and spending time with her family. Nancy brings to the clinic over ten years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
